John Baldessari

John Baldessari (1931–2020) was a Californian artist. After burning most of his paintings in 1970, he  evolved into conceptualism. The appropriationism and the balance of humor and tragedy became essential in his work, inscribing him in the history of contemporary art. Watch a nice video about him here.
