The work of Nicolas Menut is a rarity if we consider the context of conventional anthropology, usually developed under a Western perspective. In his last books and exhibitions, the French curator investigates the gaze of the native –either it is African, Oceanian or American– through sculptures that present the white man as the object of curiosity and study.
