Suzanne Ciani is an electronic music pioneer and pianist, among many other things. Interested in both classical music and technology, in the late sixties she fell in love with the Buchla, one of the first modular synthesizers. Her experimental works never succeeded commercially, pushing her into other areas such as commercial sound design and classical piano recordings. It wasn’t until the 2010s that a modern electronic label edited some of the early Buchla recordings, giving Ciani a new chance to present her old innovations.
