The Colección Austral was a pocket-book editorial project created by the Argentinian branch of Spanish publishers Espasa-Calpe. Following the example of Britain’s Penguin, they edited more than a thousand titles in this format between 1935 and 1950. Its static and functional design (where each color determines a different theme) is an example on how to add timelessness and value to an editorial label.
