I Am Not Your Negro (Raoul Peck, 2015) is a documentary based on the last and uncompleted book, Remember This House, by the Afroamerican writer James Baldwin.
It relentlessly depicts the history of racism in the United States through Baldwin’s own words narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, combined with media archive images, film excerpts and latest found footage.
Highlighting the life stories of Baldwin’s friends and civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr., Medgar Evers and Malcolm X, it describes a profound reflection of American history and of the development of an own Afroamerican identity.
