William Forsythe is an American dancer and choreographer. He was director of the Frankfurt Ballet and in 2005 he created his company, The Forsythe Company. His work is usually based on a classical structure, altered by the use of disjointed passes and taken to the limit, often to the point of violence. Since 1989, he works on the work Choreographic Objects, a series of sculptural installations that constitutes an object extension of his choreographic practice.
