The career of the Barcelona born architect Javier Carvajal Ferrer is notable for his works geometric characteristics and its similarities to the brutalist avant-garde. He had a sensitivity to craftsmanship, and followed the tradition of orienting his projects southwards, towards the light. His architecture is modern and sincere, and is visible in projects such as ‘El pobellón Español’ in the New York World´s Fair in 1964/65, or in his own homes design in Somosaguas.
