Pablo Helguera (Mexico City, 1971) is a New York-based artist who works with installation, sculpture, photography, drawing, socially engaged art, and performance.

One of his most recognized works are the so-called artoons illustrative drawings in which he recovers the technique of caricature.

Helguera creates vignettes in which he imbues his extensive experience in the world of art and education.

Suggesting through art, often in an exaggerated or distorted manner, a depiction of the system that forms the foundation of contemporary art.

To properly contextualize his artoons, it’s necessary to frame them within an interdisciplinary approach that utilizes diverse and unconventional formats.

In them, he satirizes art auctions and high-end galleries, celebrity artists, commercial art magazines, famous curators, biennials, and art fairs.

In other words, everything that exemplifies the landscape of contemporary art.
